Silchar: A man was allegedly stabbed to death by his two brothers over an ancestral property in Sribhumi district on Sunday.The victim, Tajel Hossain, was attacked around 10 am at West Nayagram, a Bangladesh-border village under Nilambazar police station, police said. His brothers, Taj Uddin and Nizam Hossain, allegedly stabbed him following a long-standing property dispute.Tajel suffered deep wounds to his chest and legs and died at the scene. Family members were reportedly present during the attack.The killing triggered tension in the village, prompting senior police and civil officials to visit the area and question the family and residents.The accused have been absconding since the incident. Police have launched a search for them and are investigating whether others were involved.Tajel’s body was sent to Sribhumi Civil Hospital for an autopsy.
