Winston Taylor Adds Michael Frisch As Digital Assets Partner In Chicago


Winston Taylor added Michael Frisch as a partner in its Financial Innovation & Regulation Practice and Digital Assets Group in Chicago. Frisch advises clients on regulatory compliance, investigations, and enforcement matters involving digital assets, cryptocurrency, and Web3 businesses.

He previously served as a senior trial attorney in the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Division of Enforcement.

At the CFTC, Frisch investigated and litigated alleged violations of the Commodity Exchange Act and worked on some of the agency’s earliest cryptocurrency enforcement actions.

In private practice, Frisch has advised CFTC registrants, decentralized finance projects, decentralized autonomous organizations, investors, and other digital asset market participants.

He also co-founded the Illinois Blockchain Association.

Frisch previously served as Chairperson of the Public Policy and Regulation Committee of the Global Digital Asset and Cryptocurrency Association.

Earlier in his career, he served as senior advisor and legal counsel to former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.

He also clerked for Judge Robert Dow in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
